there is a river by our house that will soon be frozen,
the other day we poured warm red wine into old mugs
and walked down the banks to watch it flow
/another fun thing is the outdoor chess tables with built in boards, you just need to bring the pieces. (i've never won once and we've been playing together for 4 years):).
ps. i grew up on this river (my parent's house backs onto it), but it still surprises me each year when it freezes: what was moving is turned still.

ReplyDeletejanis! i just realised you wrote scrabble instead of chess, i was gonna suggest we play each other and then at least one of us would come out a winner. :) i promise to loose at scrabble if you promise to loose at chess?! :)

ReplyDeleteHey lady, this is quite magical. Willa and I have been sitting by the same river, on the other side, in the early morning almost every day this week. It will be so frozen soon.
