snowballs and my favourite face.
"their lives spun off the tilting world like thread off a spindle, breakfast time, suppertime, lilac time, apple time."
-marilynne robinson.
apple time and lilac time have passed. now is advent time, waiting time, readying time. the river has frozen. we will be able to skate on it in a month or so.
tonight i am making coffee cake to take to a neighbor's for dessert. i very much cherish the habit of bringing food to each other's homes in winter. mitts balancing the gift, boots negotiating the snowy sidewalks and icy front steps. warmth exchanged for warmth.
ps. i think this movie looks amazing. characters so strong and full of love.
pps. the word "advent" comes from the latin word adventus, meaning coming

Such beautiful thoughts. The movie looks interesting...will definitely have to try to see it. May your evening with the neighbors be wonderful and heartfelt.
